    Abstract

WAP technology has proliferated in the last few years, and due to this fact, many businesses have been compelled to adopt the m-commerce paradigm. However, the usability aspects of the WAP-based m-commerce systems have not yet been thoroughly addressed. In order to get user acceptability, these applications should be designed using user-centred design and evaluation philosophy. In this paper, we describe the design and development of a WAP-based m-commerce system using user-centred design and evaluation techniques. Several usability issues are discussed, and we have developed a set of usability principles that will help to develop more usable WAP-based systems.
