Abstract
A review is presented giving details of the use and effects of ultrasound chemical synthesis. This paper is designed to introduce the reader to the field of sonochemistry as applied to chemical synthesis and more details of the mechanisms and theories of sonochemistry will be given in a future special issue of Ultrasonics.
