    Abstract

This book collects case studies from different policy areas on law enforcement in multi-level regulatory systems, a phenomenon of postmodern society. They are complex legal systems characterized by several levels of legislation (national, European/supranational, international) and in which national, supranational and international actors work together. Enforcement challenges are analyzed in different legal disciplines and from a political science perspective, with a focus on the EU. The diversity makes it possible to draw common conclusions on conceptual challenges of such systems and to propose generally applicable solutions.
