    This paper was given at Threshold Concepts From Personal Practice to Communities of Practice: 4th Biennial Threshold Concepts Conference and 6th NAIRTL Annual Conference Dublin, 27-29 June 2012. Author's note: This paper will discuss the impact, if any, of the introduction of the threshold concept framework on the industrial design staff’s teaching practice.
    Interviews have been carried out with a cohort of 2011 first year industrial design students and specific members of staff within the department. It is anticipated that this paper will be published as part of the conference proceedings (the 4th Threshold Concept conference) and also will result in a journal paper.
