Abstract

Jaron Lanier is one of the earliest and foremost thinkers around VR. In this chapter he revisits and reflects upon a seminal article from 1992 – an interview with Frank Biocca – in which he discussed his hopes for, and fears about, VR. He revisits some of the themes from that article in a significant interview with Sarah Jones, conducted in 2020.
