title = "The Turing Scheme: a case study of a short-term mobility",
abstract = "This chapter explores a short-term overseas mobility provision that has been established between the University of Portsmouth and The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT). The Turing Scheme is administered by the individual educational institutions who apply and they receive a small grant to help process the funding to the students. The School of Sport, Health and Exercise Science sought to prioritise the development of a short-term mobility opportunity rather than a traditional semester or year abroad. The SporTT is responsible for the development of sport across the islands of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. SporTT is the implementation agent for the Ministry of Sport responsible for the administration, management and operational activity related to sport including the maintenance of sporting facilities. In March 2021, the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Science refined their opportunity with SporTT to design a four-week activity overseas for postgraduate students during the month of July and bid for the Turing Scheme.",
