Abstract
Previous studies identified a range of strategies which can be effective for global SCM and international logistics. This research aims to investigate the influences of organisational orientation on different types of risk management strategies within global SCM. It deals with risk management strategies in association with disruption, customer and quality orientations as well as with risk management capabilities. A hypothetical model is developed from a literature review and tested using large-scale survey data and the PLS-SEM technique. The results obtained from the survey demonstrate the strategic priority in implementing risk management strategies if a firm’s resources are constrained. One of the main managerial implication derived from the study is that the research suggests that firms should carefully consider risk management strategies because their effects on risk management vary slightly. This research provides several research implications which could direct future research developed on supply chain risk management strategies. Firstly, the findings can be a stepping stone for further research because they suggest corporate features and cultures that a firm needs to possess for risk management. Secondly, the methodology applied in this study can provide guidance for future research which will use this technique in the context of risk management
