Abstract
Renewable energy subsidies have become very important in the UK. Within this context, the main purpose of this paper is to assess the changes from Renewable Obligation (RO) to Contract for Differences (CfD).There is very limited research done on this topic because the CfD is still in the implementation stage. The paper will evaluate opinions and perceptions that key stakeholder within the UK low-carbon energy sector have on the change from
RO to CfD. Stakeholder theory was selected as the appropriate framework for analysis. This study uses an intensive research approach, by means of in-depth personal interviews with key stakeholders within the industry. The paper concludes by discussing stakeholders views and confronts qualitative collected data with relevant theories.
