Abstract
This e-book summarises the findings from a project that reviewed the long running citizen science programme - the Members’ Experiments scheme of the Henry Doubleday Research Association (HDRA), now operating as Garden Organic. This project aimed to 1) review and celebrate the activities and achievements of the scheme, 2) evaluate the role and impact of the programme for the organisation itself, the participants, the wider organic movement and for organic gardening practice 3) Evaluate citizen science as an approach for generating and sharing knowledge.
Embedded within the e-book are text documents that provide further information about the development of HDRA/Garden Organic as an organisation, details of over 500 experiments conducted between 1958 and 2018 and case studies of particular experimental topics. There are also photo galleries and links to video clips that illustrate key moments in the development of the Members’ Experiment Scheme.
