Abstract

Dr Christine Grant, Associate professor of the Research Centre for Healthcare and Communities, Coventry University, Occupational Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the Digital Futures Research Centre, University of Sussex, United Kingdom, presented findings from the Remote4All initiative, which explores the experiences of disabled and neurodivergent individuals in remote work settings. Her research shows that remote and hybrid work arrangements can significantly enhance inclusion by allowing individuals to manage health conditions discreetly and avoid the physical and psychological strain of traditional office environments. However, she cautioned that these benefits are contingent on inclusive policies, trained managers and tailored accommodations. The lack of structured social interaction around remote work can lead to isolation and burnout. Dr Grant advocated for nuanced remote work policies, strengths-based coaching, and the active involvement of employees in shaping
workplace practices.
