An innovative process planning system to facilitate customized production optimization is presented. The system consists of a process parameter optimization service, an energy monitoring service and an on-board execution service. Based on a new design of Cyber-Physical machine system, the energy monitoring service and on-board execution service mounted on a machine can maintain effective and bi-directional communication with the process parameter optimization service deployed in Cloud for closed-loop monitoring, planning, optimization and control. The system, validated in EU companies, has significantly improved the companies' performances in terms of energy usage and productivity under typical dynamic situations of customized productions.
