Chorlton was invited to participate in this exhibition by curator Deborah Robinson and the work ‘A Small History of Concrete’ was selected for show. The exhibition focussed on the changing urban environment, exploring how we understand the local in an increasingly global context. Chorlton’s work exhibited comprised 18 small paintings which together form one work. Each canvas contains an image of a single building or fragment of building from the 20th century, drawn from a variety of sources around the world; the viewer will then move both spatially by moving across the images, and also in time.
The exhibition contained work by twelve artists, including Laura Oldfield Ford and Rita Donagh.
Audience figures for the exhibition were in excess of 50,000.
