Abstract
Since human beings have developed philosophical thinking two existential questions haunt them: Why do we age? Why do we die? This of course raises the following question: How can we stay young forever and free from any disease? Despite technological advances in molecular biology and genetics, none of these issues has been answered yet, and until now the real mechanisms of aging are still poorly identified. Through this article, we present the main supposed mechanisms of our senescence and describe what are, on population level, the three major trends of aging.
