Bibliographical note

This registered design is freely available on the Intellectual Property Office UK website at http://www.ipo.gov.uk/types/design/d-os/d-find/d-find-number. Author's note: There are existing production vehicles with rearward facing seats (Toyota Previa, London Taxi) and longitudinally staggered rows of seats (Fiat Multipla, Honda FRV, McLaren F1). Also forward facing diamond configurations have been proposed in concepts and student projects but have not been adopted for production due to their effect on access/egress of all occupants and on positioning of vehicle structure around door apertures. This is the first use of the reverse diamond configuration as described. Work is currently ongoing to build a physical model/prototype with a small grant from the Integrated Transport and Logistics research budget at Coventry School of Art and Design.
