Abstract
The United Kingdom’s Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) ran a consultation between 17th December 2024 and 25th February 2025 on copyright and artificial intelligence. They propose to change existing copyright law to balance copyright holders’ rights to seek compensation with the needs of AI developers by establishing a clear legal framework for AI training using copyrighted materials. The consultation sought views on four options.
