Abstract
QUALI-FIND: QUALItative Analysis, Framework and INterpretation of Datasets
QUALI-FIND is a new 3-day qualitative research course open to all post graduate researchers at Coventry University and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
The course aims to develop baseline knowledge and skills to enable post-graduate researchers to develop a Framework Approach to analysis; navigate large qualitative data sets, theorise, analyse and write up their work.
The course is best suited to post graduate researchers who have already collected some/all of their qualitative data and are ready to start analysing this, or, are planning a funding application, which includes large qualitative data sets. From our experience this is not a course that should be undertaken “for interest” without a plan to mobilise the knowledge.
The course will commence with a brief re-cap of qualitative enquiry, moving through each day to build knowledge of Framework and qualitative data analysis, in chronological order:
Day 1: Developing the basic constructs of a Framework
Day 2: Interpreting your qualitative data (coding/theming) to apply to Framework
Day 3: Refining your basic Framework, Coding concepts within Framework. Moving onto selection and application of relevant theory and using theory in qualitative analysis.
Each workshop will include lectures along with time and support to work on your data.
