Abstract
The “migration debate” in Europe has become increasingly polarised
and heated. Rhetoric surrounding refugees and migrants is often influenced by fears and suspicion and is easily instrumentalised for political agendas. Although there have been many highly creditable efforts
in various European states to contribute to a more balanced narrative
about refugees and migrants, the increasing polarisation of the debate
makes dialogue difficult
