Abstract

This policy brief examines the role of fathers in early diagnostic practices and care for young children of determination (YCOD) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Drawing on insights from policy dialogues with fathers, professionals, and stakeholders, it identifies key challenges and opportunities to enhance paternal involvement. The brief proposes policy recommendations aimed at creating a more supportive and inclusive environment for fathers of YCOD, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for these children and their families.
