Abstract
In order for contemporary organisations to compete successfully in the ever changing and dynamic business environment there is always a critical requirement for development of sustainable and competitive management strategies. The rationale for this case study addresses the importance of how organisational foresight approaches have been adopted by Aviva to support future growth. It further highlights the conceptual understanding of flexibility, capability and how they link to Aviva’s competitiveness in long term. The case study also identifies and reviews the pivotal success factors developed by the company over its 300 years of operation within the insurance industry. The development of successful management strategies and policies of sustainability for such a global organisation cannot be underestimated. The various management strategies adopted by Aviva are also discussed in the case study.
