Abstract
With the COVID-19 pandemic at large, children have been stuck at home. They are being unable to go to school and interact with teachers and friends; they can’t even go to playgrounds or the beach. We know that academic work, extra-curricular activities and sports are essential in the development of a child’s critical thinking which enables her to use reason and logic to judge a situation and react to it accordingly. However, children being stuck at home does not mean that their critical thinking development has to be compromised with. “Parenting: The Critical Thinking at Home” provides guidelines which parents can follow at home in order to develop their child’s critical thinking. The guidelines are simple and do not require things which are not easily available at home. Parents can easily guide their children by following the instructions without having to study or research anything, and it will be a fun way for both the parent and the child to spend fruitful time with each other which is the primary way in which a child can develop herself faster. Instructions have been provided with the help of which parents can guide their children to make certain models to understand their mechanisms. These models are also easy to make and have been carefully thought of so that the child can make them herself with a little bit of guidance from her parents. There are forward-looking instructions as well which parents can follow for their children once the pandemic is over. Focus has been given on ways to develop a child’s observation skills so that she can learn from her surroundings and also how to promote her communication skills. With the help of the book, parents will know how to guide their child in developing healthy habits and also teach them other important skills like brainstorming ideas, chunking large information, and summarising events and daily happenings. These too, will be fun exercises that the child can undertake with complete freedom as the book also focuses on how a
parent can make the child free of any kind of pressure while developing herself.
