Abstract

The present work aims to address the nonlinear problem of internal fluid-structure interaction using a finite volume approach in both the fluid and solid domains. The Navier-Stokes equations are applied on the fluid domain and the nonlinear elastodynamic equations are used for the deforming solid domain. The method has been verified in the fluid, solid, and coupled domain separately. The results show a good performance by the method to solve coupled problems in internal fluid-structure interaction.
