    Abstract

    The adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other People Working in Rural Areas (UNDROP) was welcomed by agrarian social movements as a landmark in the international recognition of the peasantry as political and legal subjects with the agency to define the future of agricultural, food, and environ-mental systems globally.
