Abstract

An apparatus 101, and method, for monitoring accelerations within a vehicle 102 having more than one row of seats 103. The apparatus comprises a first sensing means 104 for providing a first signal indicative of sensed accelerations within a vehicle 102. The apparatus also comprises processing means 105 configured to process the first signal to generate an output signal dependent upon sensed accelerations and to provide the output signal to a display means 106 positioned for displaying to a driver of the vehicle 102 to cause the display means 106 to display information dependent upon the output signal. The first sensing means 104 is located in a first portion 107 of the vehicle 102 to the rear of the front row 108 of seats 103 of the vehicle 102. A vehicle 102 comprising such an apparatus 101 is also disclosed.
