Bibliographical note
Author's note: This 6,000 word journal article is published by the peer reviewed Journal of Visual Art Practice and is significant in adding to the debates about art about the home, and making and installing large installations. Although many contemporary artists reference the home, this is not a theme that is heavily researched. Although making, skill and collaboration are important, contentious aspects in contemporary art, again this is not over rehearsed. In order to write this there was a significant amount of primary and secondary research undertaken that includes email correspondence between curators and symposium discussions. (Ethics approved.) This is a rigorous debate that has much new material.
