Abstract
Manifestos in relation to inclusive dance can be problematic, often created by and speaking to those who already find themselves included. This version of a manifesto for inclusion aims to account for the need for fluid approaches and questions about how we create access for dancers into training and practice, understanding that there is not '‘one way’' of '‘doing’' inclusion, rather thant as a sector we must be ready and willing to ask and to be open to change. This writing aims to highlight the vast knowledge that exists in disabled dance artists, not just about access or participation, but also a rich and diverse ontology of dance and bodies that has the potential to enrich and improve dance training and dance practice.
