Abstract
Contamination of natural resources by agrochemicals is often associated with irrigated rice farming. However, this system represents 80% of world production, and it is essential to investigate alternatives to mitigate its negative impacts. The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of irrigated rice with the substitution of pesticides by homeopathic therapy in the municipality of Pouso Redondo, SC. The study was carried out in 7,5ha of commercial farming on the family property. This area was divided into three 2.5ha subareas, which were submitted to pest and disease treatments with pesticides, with homeopathy and without management. At the end of the crop cycle, 5 samples from each subarea were collected and the yield and yield components were evaluated. The results were submitted to analysis of variance by the F test and later comparison of the means by the Tukey test at 5%. The treatments with both homeopathy and agrochemicals increased the number of panicles per plant in relation to the control, with 8.27, 7.61 and 6.47, respectively. The sterility of spikelets differed among all treatments with 13.22% for homeopathic management, 15.48% with agrochemical management and 17.51% without treatment. The homeopathic management increased grain yield, with a mean productivity of 8906.47 kg ha-1, while the pesticide management did not differ from the control, with averages of 7710.88 versus 6976.07 kg ha-1. Homeopathic therapy has improved the performance of rice plants and is an excellent tool to enhance sustainable production.
