Abstract

The aim of this research is the provision of an insight on the importance of standardizing the procedures for the current project management process; specifically for an operational development projects category of ABC Oil and Gas in Libya. It will further conduct an examination of the existing gaps and weakness that is discovered after a comparison with the best practices, as a way of coming up with the development of customized models and frameworks for the project management methodology. This research adopted an exploratory interpretative case study approach via semi-structured interviews to collect data from the professionals. The project stages are covered by the processes which come in forms of Funding Approval and Tendering, together with Engineering and Construction and the process of closing out as well. Those process outlines the proposed developed Project Management Methodology models, which are seen as pilot version with the need for experts to validate and evaluate further.
