Abstract

New strategies for urban development in the European Union require the introduction of green infrastructure and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) within the area of stormwater management. However, this requirement has not been fully reflected in engineering studies, which represents a gap in the education of civil engineers and their knowledge of these techniques. The University of Oviedo has developed an innovative syllabus that incorporates SUDS in its undergraduate and post-graduate civil engineering studies.
