Ireland and the Security of Subsea Infrastructure

Research output: Other contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Ireland is a maritime crossroads for transatlantic data cables positioned at the periphery of Europe. Against the backdrop of an increasingly unpredictable international security environment, decades of underinvestment in maritime security capacity means the Irish State is inadequately resourced to monitor or respond to potential threats against this critical infrastructure. How can Ireland increase preparedness in this context?
