    Abstract

Institution as Praxis: New Curatorial Directions for Collaborative Research identifies and advocates for a diversification of practices across the artistic and curatorial fields. The publication stems out of Nottingham Contemporary’s Institution as Praxis research unit, which aims to generate new modes of research and knowledge production in the fields of visual cultures, art, and the curatorial (beyond the fast-paced delivery of cultural activities such as exhibitions and events). Institution as Praxis seeks to develop novel concepts, paradigms, and techniques of inquiry for curatorial activity in the present.
