Abstract

Low-Reynolds-number investigations in water tunnels revealed the antisymmetric and quasi-periodic motion of vortex breakdown locations over delta wings. By using two-point unsteady surface pressure measurements in a wind tunnel, this interaction was also found to exist at much higher Reynolds number. Evidence indicated that the vortex interactions as well as other unsteady phenomena over delta wings are insensitive to Reynolds number.
