Abstract
Software implementation of Integrated System Optimisation and Parameter Estimation (ISOPE) algorithms is described. Particular attention is given to two approaches for obtaining real process derivative information. The algorithms are applied in a simulation study of the online steady-state optimisation of a fluid catalytic cracking unit, and it is shown that the correct optimum steady-state operating condition is achieved in spite of model-reality differences.
