Abstract

This chapter focuses on the development of a Sport Management MSc programme. It considers the evolution of the curriculum and, most importantly, given the focus of this resource, the role of the student body in the development of this MSc programme. A number of staffing changes within the sport management cognate area meant that there were new areas of curricular speciality that these recent staffing appointments brought with them. The co-creation process was tracked and informed by the ‘co-creation wheel’, which was referred to at various points in the process dependent on university-imposed deadlines, processes and boards. The rationale for this course redesign has come through several years of student feedback, from a variety of mechanisms and set against a backdrop of a changing higher education landscape, an increased focus on university and course internationalisation and an increasingly diverse student cohort. In order to do this, students needed to move from providing feedback to more active learner engagement.
