Abstract
Overweight and obesity are global public health issues. Pregnant women are prone to gaining excessive weight which may be retained after childbirth leading to obesity and several other diseases. There are several interventions in place to help new mothers manage their weights. While some of these interventions seem to be effective, how do we know which is more effective and therefore have a basis for comparison?
When researchers study disease treatment they measure results. However, in weight management of new mothers, there are no Core Outcomes Set (COS) to compare results. This study will identify a minimal COS which could improve research, as well as inform policy and practice.
