Abstract
Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (DTP-PMSMs) are particularly suitable for high-speed motors due to their medium-voltage, high-current characteristics and postfault-operation ability. However, the fault diagnosis process at high speed can greatly affect the normal operation. This paper proposes a generalized control scheme for DTP-PMSMs which is effective under both healthy and arbitrary open-phase fault (OPF) operations without changing control schemes. The voltage transfer error in the arbitrary phase and the control target confliction in z1-z2 subspace under OPF are both considered. Only Proportional Integral controllers are utilized in the proposed strategy to achieve simple implementation. Experiment results prove the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
