Abstract

The method involves determining flow rate and total amount of process fluid flowed through a conduit (102) after opening a valve. A run-off amount of the fluid is estimated based on flow rate by a transmitter. A total amount of the fluid that has flowed through the conduit plus a run-off amount is determined and compared to a target amount to initiate closure of the valve to stop the flow of fluid. An independent claim is also included for a filling system comprising a flow meter transmitter.
