    Fiddleheads and Fronds is a series of artworks by J. Ball comprising of twenty eight interlocking ‘containers of meaning’, that through their agency, map, discuss and critique the hybridity of creativity in relation to the Marx Lambert archive at Compton Verney, UK. This series of artworks has been commissioned for inclusion in the exhibition titled Marx Lambert Interventions curated by Prof. Jill Journeaux and Alison Cox, Head of Programming at Compton Verney Art Gallery, Warwickshire, UK in June-Dec 2018. In addition to the artworks, Ball, the author, will present a paper expanding on the critical references in the work and reflecting on the relationship between art and archives in contemporary art practice. A symposium and an exhibition catalogue will accompany the exhibition.
