Abstract
This article discusses how a bespoke questionnaire for patients admitted to an acute medical unit was developed to assess satisfaction levels. A postal survey was sent to 500 people who had been discharged from the unit between January and March 2010. This article looks at the lessons learnt in developing and undertaking the survey and makes recommendations for anyone considering embarking on a similar project. It does not look at the results of the survey.
