Abstract

‘OpenMed’ is an international cooperation project, fostering awareness and capacity building in Open Education Practices (OEP) among universities in the South Mediterranean region. Key findings about intercultural learning in promoting bottom-up and top-down approaches to the sustainable integration of OEP will be discussed, where concepts, approaches and methodologies have resulted from conversations and negotiations among experts and project partners with different national, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The value of instigating policy change at a national and institutional level will also be explained, including how such declarations of intent are driving forward the next stage project stages.
