Author's note: EKSIG is a special interest group of the Design Research Society of which Professor Roworth-Stokes is a founding member. EKSIG is an international forum concerned with the understanding and management of knowledge in design research and professional practice both with regard to research regulations and requirements, and research methodology.
The EKSIG Conference 2009 was convened to promote understanding and best practice concerning the integration of different forms of knowledge within design research and practice across disciplines including design, engineering, craft, education, health, and knowledge management.
The conference proceedings represent the leading contributions from the event and were published with a booklet and CD and also formed part of special edition of the Journal of Research Practice.
