Educating and Developing AYA Cancer Nurses

    Abstract

    This chapter explores the rationale for addressing specific education needs of nurses who care for AYA with cancer beyond routine professional development needs. Key principles of care are identified which center upon adolescent health, cancer nursing needs alongside identifying and addressing the unique needs of the young person with cancer and their family. Ways of learning how to do this are explored and it cover formal and informal ways of knowing.
