Abstract
This article discusses common misconceptions about plant-based diets in chronic kidney disease and the potential risk of hyperkalaemia due to their high potassium content. Non-dietary contributions to hyperkalaemia are discussed and a checklist is provided to consider other interventions before restricting high potassium plant-based foods.
