An apparatus 101 for controlling an interior environment of a road vehicle 120 is disclosed along with a method and a computer program 115. The apparatus comprises controller means (e.g. processor) 102 to control a seat adjustment means 103 for adjusting a configuration of a passenger seat 105 (e.g. inclination) and control at least one parameter defining an interior vehicle environment (e.g. close window blinds, increase climate control temperature, dim or switch off interior lights, block or mute incoming phone calls) on receipt of a first signal from a user input means 104 (e.g. button switches, soft keys on a touch screen, or a verbal speech recognition system command) indicating a user selection of a first mode (e.g. relaxation or sleep mode). The system may control each seat individually, particularly upon detection of a seat being occupied. The environmental parameters may be automatically adjusted to a different predefined value following a prolonged period of time (e.g. slightly reducing temperature and/or turning on lights to wake a sleeping passenger). This adjustment may be related to global navigation satellite system data, depend on location of the vehicle, e.g. proximity to intended destination.
