Abstract

The present invention relates to condition monitoring and in particular relates to a system for monitoring condition of a railways installation such as a points machine. The system includes a distributed array of sensors adapted to gather data regarding the status of elements of the installation with which the sensors are associated.
The monitoring system may utilize advanced algorithms to process the data for a variety of purposes including predicting failure of equipment, developing efficient
maintenance schedules and managing railway assets in general.
