    Abstract

The characteristics of bilinear systems and directiondependent
systems are compared. The approximate linear
models obtained and the nonlinear distortions present are
investigated, for different input signals. For a perturbation
using a binary signal, the conversion from a first order
bilinear system into an equivalent first order directiondependent
system, and vice versa, is discussed.
