The quasi-static pressing of a clayey soil is used in two areas in earthen construction: in the building itself (for air-dried bricks) as well as in geotechnics. In this article, we are showing a laboratory test that enable the study of the static compaction proceedings. This test can create samples of pressed earth alike the in situ compacted earth. We characterise the behaviour of the sample while pressing, the optimal water content as well as the stresses path, this process in order to obtain informations on its behaviour after pressing.
Le compactage quasi statique d'un sol argileux est utilisé dans deux domaines de la construction en terre: en bâtiment (pour des briques séchées à l'air libre) et en géotechnique.
