Abstract
This report on ‘Breaking Down Barrier; Unveiling Hidden Challenges to Achieving True Gender in STEM Education and Leadership in Kenya,’ under the initiative Gender Equality in Higher Education explores the reasons for the persistence in the gender imbalance in the STEM fields as the gender gap in STEM leadership roles widens. Further, it seeks to establish why girls are less likely to choose STEM subjects at basic education levels, complete them on time, and transition to STEM careers and leadership roles.
