A Good Enough Place: Traces of Care, Use, and Everyday Life in Kings Heath: Film with participants

Research output: Practice-Based and Non-textual ResearchArtefact

Abstract

This short film brings together three very different personal stories from Kings Heath, Northampton, revealing how ideas of community shift over time. Instead of defining what community is, it explores how people’s experiences of belonging, memory, and change are shaped by the area’s layered history.
Once common grazing land, later home to Northampton’s first racetrack, and eventually redeveloped after the war as suburban housing, Kings Heath carries traces of each era. These layers form the backdrop to contemporary life and the evolving identities of the people who live there.
