Abstract
A new non-separating technology for measuring oil well production, implemented by Schneider Electric / Invensys in a multiphase flow meter NetOil & Gas, is considered. The flowmeter is built on the basis of common industrial measuring instruments (Coriolis flowmeter, gauge, differential pressure transmitter, temperature transducer, moisture meter) and software developed by the specialists of the Invensis Technology Center, based at the University of Oxford. The product utilizes the unique ability of the Foxboro® Digital Coriolis Flowmeter to remain operational at high gas volume ratios. To compensate for additional errors and simulate a multiphase flow, the mathematical apparatus of artificial neural networks is used. The flowmeter passed certification tests on the GET 195-2011 and fully confirmed the compliance of metrological characteristics with the requirements of GOST R 8.615-2005. HMS Neftemash OJSC, a member of the HMS Group, has developed and certified the MERA-MP industrial measuring system based on the NetOil & Gas flowmeter, which has both stationary and mobile versions. The MERA-MR unit has successfully passed a series of pilot tests at fields in Western Siberia and the Volga region and was highly appreciated by specialists from oil companies. The main advantages of the technology, in addition to the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results, include a reduction in the duration of the well test, minimal pressure loss, real-time data acquisition, developed means of transmitting and displaying information. The economic analysis showed that the installation based on NetOil & Gas technology provides the customer with a lower total cost of ownership compared to installations built using traditional separation measurement technology. At present, HMS Neftemash OJSC is implementing the first commercial contracts for the supply of MERA-MP units to customers.
