Project Details

Description

This project explores the theme of the “city as networked screen and interface.” It utilises the current technological capacity to reconfigure understandings and experiences of time, space/place, and sociality through projected live portals. This project is seen as a capacity building exercise around the art and techniques of community oriented projection for future projects towards/wthin Coventry CoC2021.

Key findings

The 2020 Covid pandemic and subsequent lockdown necessitated a reframing of the planned project and the projection installation took place in a residential suburb in Coventry (Beanfield Avenue) and utilised Social Media Video (Facebook Live) & Streaming Live-cams in residential locations and city centre in Warsaw. Local interest in both locations generated small interested audiences viewing from socially-distanced street-side positions and advertising/word of mouth was shared via social media community groups.
The Project acted as a Pilot fro the World Wide Window project within the Coventry Creates programme for Coventry 2021 City of Culture.
